Funerals

When a family experiences a loss, we invite you to contact the parish office as soon as possible. Our Pastor and Pastoral Associate will walk with you through the funeral planning process.

Funeral Service Options

We offer either a full Funeral Mass or a Liturgy of the Word. Many families also arrange a Vigil the evening before, with prayers, an opportunity for viewing, and Words of Remembrance.

Choosing Readings & Music

Families are invited to select Scripture readings, the Prayers of the Faithful, and musical selections, and our staff is happy to help with these choices. Because the funeral liturgy is an act of praise and worship of God, all music used in the church must be liturgical in nature.

A Funeral Mass includes four songs plus one psalm; a Liturgy of the Word includes three songs plus one psalm; a Vigil includes three songs plus one psalm. A list of appropriate hymns is available from the office, and suggested psalms can be found in the Catholic Book of Worship (#15–227).
